Seattle - One of a kind Venue

Seattle-area Brides & Grooms:

If you have not visited the crown jewel atop the Smith Tower, you owe it to yourselves to see this very special venue. The Chinese Room and open air Observation Deck make up the entire 35th floor of the tower. There are incredible views in all directions, while the room itself is completely private and very unique.

The Last Empress of China gifted Mr Smith the hand-carved ceiling and black wood furniture, while later owners installed the 16th century temple doors and the 17th century art panels. The most famous piece of furniture is the 300+ year old Wishing Chair, the legend of which is very specific: "Any woman desiring marriage who sits in this chair will be a Bride within one year."

The room is perfect for Rehearsal Dinners and smaller Weddings, with a maximum capacity of 99 people. The room and Deck are open for viewing by appointment, or you can visit the room and deck while it is open to the public. Please check our website www.smithtower.com and click on Observation Deck, then current calendar. Or, for more information about the room itself, visit www.chineseroom.com.

We look forward to seeing you!

Inexpensive Wedding Favors

Wedding Favors on a Budget

To give Weddings Favors or Not? That is always the question that brides ask themselves.

It seems by the time you have paid for everything else in your wedding, do you really need to offer or give out wedding favors? Will the Wedding Favor really be kept by guests as a memento? How many have you kept? Or will they just be thrown out the next day?

In either case, here are some inexpensive wedding favor ideas that your guests will really appreciate & use. You can be sure that your money has been well spent.

Bakery Bar

Create a Bakery Bar for guests to enjoy the morning after your wedding. Set up a skirted 8 ft table providing an assortment of bakery goods. Some suggestions are cinnamon rolls, donuts, coffee cake, anything thing that looks yummy! Bakery items can be purchased the day before at your local bakery. Tier your bakery goods for an elegant look. Provide small take out boxes for the guests to grab & fill upon leaving your wedding. The take out boxes can be as simple or as elaborate as you want. A monogram on the box is a classy touch or the phrase "Life is Sweet" is a fun way to send your guests on their way.

Coffee Favor

At each table provide a black or white glossy craft bag filled with 2oz of coffee. Dress up the bag with a tag, ribbon & a heart teaspoon. Not only will your guests use the coffee the next day but the bags on the guest table also add an element of height to the table. The heart teaspoons can be found at the dollar store.

Candy Station

Both adults & children love candy! Provide a Candy Station by using an 8 ft skirted table. Rent or purchase glass containers in varied heights. Fill with bright colorful candy. For a fun twist-if you are having a theme wedding, choose candy popular from that era. Guests love seeing retro candy and will certainly not forget your wedding anytime soon. Provide scoops & craft bags in your color scheme for guests to fill upon their departure. "Surprise" your guests with fun Favors that don't have to cost a fortune. Your guests really will thank you and will be talking about your wedding for months to come.
